Be Silent to Reduce Stress
"Nobody is a fool and nobody is wise… If you have space within your mind, then you become wise, and if you have no space in your mind, then you become 'otherwise'." - Shri Brahmananda Sarasvati
This past weekend, I read an article about being silent written by one of my dearest yoga teachers, Laura Plumb . The article is called Mind Space and I’ve added the link if anyone is interested in reading it.
My friends and confidantes have given me some good suggestions on how to keep my power and maintain peace of mind, but for some reason, I forgot everything everyone has said. Instead I found myself spiraling into a stressful existence. Laura’s article about finding the time to be silent during the day and my subsequent practice of taking slow deep breaths and fingering my mala beads to count 108 breaths brought me back to a place of serenity. I know that life is filled with stressful, unexpected events that hit us like a tsunami, but we don't have to react. We can find a place of silence. We can breath through the chaos. We can keep our serenity and move forward.
Thank you all for being there. From the light in my heart, to the light in yours. Namaste.
