My Body is Sick
My Body is Sick. It decided it needed a vacation from my vacation. My heart is fine, but my head chose to invite some bacteria for a party in my sinus cavities. I remember when I was young and foolish and partied all night, having a few too many margaritas and getting a hangover the next day. But this bacteria party going on in my head is far nastier. It brought with it some disgusting friends – nasal congestion, throbbing facial pain, and snotty tissues. It zapped all my energy, created a fog in my brain, and makes it difficult for me to breath. And, of course we all know that when we stop breathing, we die.
So, I’ve decided to divorce my body and think outside the box as it were. I’ve decided to stop thinking about the pain. I’ve decided to do what I can do that doesn’t require too much effort – like sleep, sit in the shower instead of stand, drink hot tea and place the cup up against my swollen sinuses, listen to relaxing music, meditate, and on the occasion that my head doesn’t feel like it’s going to explode – write.
Sometimes you just have to go with the flow and accept what life throws your way. But I always try to remember that pretty soon, life will change. My antibiotics will kick in and the bacteria that invaded my body will disappear. At that time, I’ll be able to resume exercise and yoga, eat normally, and do all the things that occupy my day. In the meantime, I’ll just be and watch my body heal itself.

Hope you feel better soon, Sandy. This heat can't be helping how you feel either ;(
After trying lots of different decongestants and nasal sprays, I finally came across a multi-symptom cold medicine that cleared my sinuses to the point that I could breath.
But then I was reading WebMD which said that a person with heart disease shouldn't be taking over the counter decongestants because it increases your heart rate, so I'm back to my box of Kleenex.
Have you tried irrigating your sinuses? It's fairly gross -- but it soothes and gets all the gunk out. It's my court of last resort when I have a sinus infection. Hope you'll feel better soon...
I use a Neti pot periodically, but my sinuses were so closed, this doesn't work right now.
